Stories of Struggle to Strength | Brisbane 2027 & Melbourne

An immersive art exhibition celebrating women’s voices, resilience and the strength found through adversity.

Following the success of its inaugural exhibition, which welcomed 337 paid attendees to the Brisbane Showgrounds, If She Spoke: Stories of Struggle to Strength is returning on Sunday, 23 May 2027 — bigger, bolder and more immersive than ever.

Created by Australian artist Rhiannon Hetherington of RMH ART, If She Spoke brings together large-scale original paintings and real stories shared by women, creating a powerful space for connection, reflection and conversation.

The 2027 exhibition will transform the Brisbane Showgrounds into an interactive art experience, featuring a 21-metre audio installation where visitors can listen to women’s stories through telephones, immersive installations, participatory spaces and the She Matters mural by Sherelle Moody, honouring women whose lives have been lost to violence.

Visitors will be invited to do more than observe. Through storytelling, art and shared experiences, they’ll have opportunities to listen, reflect, contribute and connect.

And Brisbane is only the beginning.
With Melbourne also planned for 2027, If She Spoke is growing into a touring exhibition dedicated to bringing women’s stories to audiences across Australia.

More than an art exhibition, If She Spoke is a celebration of the courage it takes to survive, the strength it takes to rebuild, and the importance of being heard.
